I try and teach my children to be grateful by living a life of gratefulness. Giving thanks for the little things in life. The little things count - don't take them for granted. Johnnie L., southside Savannah, GA We ask the kids to go through their toy boxes 3-4 times a year. We ask them to choose what items they want to go to less fortunate kids. It helps my kids see and understand what they have. April C., Rincon, GA At bedtime, talk over what each of you are grateful for that day. Joyce L., Savannah, GA Expose them to volunteer work, by doing it yourself. Barbara S., Whitemarsh Island, GA Have them write thank you notes. Linda B., Landings, Savannah, GA We say what we are grateful for at every red light. Christina W., Savannah, GA Have kids donate to charity and see that they are blessed. Teresa R., Savannah, GA Teach gratefulness by example. By saying Grace and saying what we are thankful for - and just using the word gratefulness. Sally W., Denver, CO Start a gratefulness journal with your kids. Diane P., Landings, Savannah, GA Always use a positive reinforcement - a pat and I Love You!
